Book Review

For almost a year now, I have been using this book as our morning daily devotion with Olivia.  It has exceeded expectations.  For a small child, it promotes Heavenly "thinking" while carefully adding in a dose at a time deeper material.  There are beautiful illustrations to go along with the Bible stories.  While this is not that important, I have found that real life photographs help draw little eyes into the story.

If used properly, it literally is a stepping stone at a time Biblically.  Lately, Olivia has requested certain stories, so we have jumped around.  Even my type A personality lets this slide:)

I sometimes incorporate this into circle time when other children are here.  With just Olivia, we chat a bit, read our story and pray.  Another great feature of this devotion are the questions with the story.  Some easy, some difficult.  All promote listening skills.  There is also a verse to memorize relating to a group of "steps" at a time.  We have not used these yet, because we have attempted to memorize a verse per week from another source.

I hope you will consider using this at home if you are looking for a devotion for little ones.  Enjoy!
